World Of Warcraft: Dragonflight - Community Events Guide (2024)

World of Warcraft has seen multiple iterations of meaningful endgame content. There are some more beloved than others, and while a few such as World Quests have stuck around for years, there is constant innovation and each new expansion breeds new experiments with the formula.

In Dragonflight, the new iteration that players were introduced to were Community Events. Unlike World Quests, dailies, or anything that the game has seen in recent years, these frequent scenarios encourage a laid-back atmosphere while still providing something to do. If you want to know more about how they work, here's everything you need to know.

Community Events Overview

As you gain Renown with each faction found on the Dragon Isles, you'll be treated to a new thematic Community Event that ties in with that faction's story.

These events are on such a large scale that they often require cooperation with your fellow players, whether that be through the Group Finder or naturally in the world. You'll be able to more easily progress through any given scenario the more players you have on your side.

Each of the instances only provides the best rewards once a week, and as such, you won't be expected to log in every day to grind them out. However, they do provide some returns, and a great amount of Renown, rewarding those that want to complete them more often.

Siege On Dragonbane Keep

As the most combat-driven event currently available, the Siege on Dragonbane Keep, offers a scenario to help the Valdrakken Accord take back Scalecracker Keep. You might recognize the scenario formula of fighting enemies through multiple stages, a staple from previous expansions.

This event becomes available upon reaching Renown Five with the Valdrakken Accord reputation, and once it's unlocked, any of your characters can do it upon hitting max level.

The event spawns every two hours in The Waking Shores, near the border of Ohn'ahran Plains. You'll be able to tell its location from the horn symbol on your map. Look out for the encampment of Obsidian Outcasts NPCs, as that will be where the event kicks off.

Once things begin, you'll have to cooperate with your fellow players to fend off waves of Djaradin foes, protect caravans, establish bases, and eventually push into the dense zone of Scalecracker Keep to fight a handful of bosses.

Grand Hunts

The Grand Hunts with the Maruuk Centaur also lean into combat, but it offers enough diversity to keep things interesting. Just as with the Siege, this is a multi-stage scenario to hunt down powerful foes.

These will become automatically available to all of your characters upon reaching Renown Five with the Maruuk Centaur reputation, unlocking it for your entire account.

Similarly to the event in The Waking Shores, these Grand Hunts will appear every two hours. However, they do not have a guaranteed spawn location, instead appearing across Ohn'ahran Plains, The Azure Span, and Thaldraszus.

With each time that the location is randomized, you'll have a unique set of tasks to perform. If you fulfil these tasks and clear the stages of the scenario, you'll be rewarded with more Renown for the Maruuk Centaur.

Grand Hunt Tasks

Your tasks will change depending on which area you find yourself in, but they will usually follow the same guidelines, so you'll want to be prepared for a few fights.

  • Look for creature tracks by clicking on interactable items, like bushes, within the quest zone.
  • Defeat creatures within the quest zone until the progress bar reaches 100 percent.
  • Help smaller creatures, like beaver kits, by bringing them to Shikaar Healers scattered around the quest zone.
  • Help injured Shikaar hunters by interacting with them.
  • Hunt down elite monsters and bosses.

Once you complete six stages, you'll have to find an NPC named Scout Tomul, who will signal the end of the Grand Hunt. Upon finishing the scenario, you'll automatically obtain your rewards.

Community Feasts

The final event is the Community Feast, held by none other than the Iskaara Tuskarr in The Azure Span. While it still features some aspects of combat, this instance is much more relaxed than the other two as you help your fellow players prepare a communal soup.

The Feasts are unlocked automatically once you hit Renown Two with the Iskaara Tuskarr reputation. As was the case before, unlocking this once on one character will allow any of your alts to participate.

These events are on a one-and-a-half-hour rotation, and they take place in Iskaara, situated on the western coast of The Azure Span. You'll be able to locate where it takes place by spotting the big soup cauldron in the middle of the small town.

Once it begins, you'll be given certain tasks to enhance the quality of the soup. The delectable feast can range anywhere from Common quality to Legendary, offering better rewards accordingly.

Community Feast Tasks

Unlike the other events, the Community Feast doesn't have multiple stages that must be completed. Instead, you'll be timed to perform as many of these tasks as you can in a short period of time, with the event concluding after the timer reaches zero.

  • Tenderize Not-So-Tender Morsel, Rubbery Fish Head, or Tough Carp by beating them with your spells and abilities.
  • Stomp out Bittershell Hermits by running over the crabs around the soup pot.
  • Obtain one of several fish from the waters of Iskaara by using your Fishing profession.
  • Throw escaping fish back into the soup pot by interacting with them as they flop around.
  • Run around Iskaara to search for seaweed samples, which are interactable items.
  • Supervise other players by first talking to Big Kinook, then target other people and use your special actions a number of times.
  • Help combine the ingredients by jumping into the soup pot and spamming the Stir the Pot special action.
  • Defend the pot from several elite monsters and bosses that come from the sea.

If your group is able to perform their tasks flawlessly and reach Legendary quality, a rare boss named Bisquius the Feast Beast will spawn once the timer reaches zero. Defeating him will net you the Leftover's Revenge achievement.

After the event is over, you'll automatically receive your rewards. If your soup was of a particularly good quality, you can receive the Iskaara Soup buff, which increases your Versatility and maximum health for one hour.
